The Cheesecake Factory Kicks off Spring Celebrations with a Hamburger Challenge and Complimentary Desserts

April 21, 2010
Six New Glamburgers Are on the Menu, and Yours Could Be Next!

CALABASAS HILLS, Calif., Apr 21, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Spring is here, and summer is around the corner! It's time to dust off your backyard grill, and soak in the season's endless celebrations. America's favorite upscale casual restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory, invites guests to celebrate the season by enjoying new menu selections including unique Glamburgers, as well as the opportunity to create the next Glamburger to be featured on its menu in "The Great Glamburger Challenge." The Cheesecake Factory is offering guests more reasons to celebrate with two special gifts redeemable for a complimentary dessert to be enjoyed on a future visit.

A longtime favorite on restaurant menus across the U.S., America's appetite for hamburgers has grown as recipes and flavor profiles have evolved. As a leader in the casual dining segment, The Cheesecake Factory continues its spirit of innovation by renaming its burger menu and introducing six new Glamburgers, each inspired by a different region of the United States. Among them are the Memphis Burger, topped with slow roasted B.B.Q. pork, melted cheddar and cole slaw, which represents the smoky flavors of the South, and the Sonoma Burger with herbed goat cheese, oven-roasted tomatoes, arugula, and red onion, embodies the character of the California Wine Country.

The Cheesecake Factory is providing the rare opportunity for America to help create the next signature Glamburger to be featured on its menu as part of "The Great Glamburger Challenge." Now through May 31, 2010, an interactive website at www.thecheesecakefactory.com/glamorous will allow burger enthusiasts to create and submit a customized virtual hamburger piled high with their favorite combination of toppings, cheeses and sauces.

"You can get a hamburger almost anywhere, but you can only get a Glamburger at The Cheesecake Factory," says Founder David Overton. "We wanted to transcend the burger category, and the word 'hamburger' just didn't seem to do them justice. With such 'glamorous' toppings there really wasn't a better name to describe them than Glamburgers. And now, we're inviting our guests to help us create another distinctive addition to our exciting Glamburger menu."

Five lucky finalists will be chosen on June 15 by The Cheesecake Factory's culinary team, and posted on The Cheesecake Factory's website for the public to vote on from June 15 - 30. The winner will be announced this summer.

The grand prize winner will have their Glamburger creation added to The Cheesecake Factory menu for one year and will be awarded their choice of one of six Glamorous Getaway vacations inspired by the new Glamburger menu. From a journey to the birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll in Memphis, Tenn. to a more romantic getaway to Sonoma, Calif. for wine tasting and spa experiences, the winner and a guest will enjoy a three-night vacation with travel, accommodations and more. Other destinations include Monterey, Calif.; Austin, Texas; Rogue River Valley, Ore.; and Santa Fe, N.M.

Restrictions apply. See complete Rules at www.thecheesecakefactory.com/glamorous.

Also beginning today, and available through Mother's Day on May 9 (or while supplies last), restaurant guests will receive two special gifts redeemable on a future visit for a complimentary dessert for every $30 spent. Choose from 30 varieties of decadent cheesecake or other enticing specialty desserts including the Lemoncello Cream Torte(TM) or the Black-Out Cake. The guest cards can be redeemed Sunday through Thursday, from May 12 through June 29. Restrictions apply. Guest cards will be offered in Cheesecake Factory restaurants within the contiguous United States. See back of guest card for details.
