The Cheesecake Factory Wants To Know "What's Your Flavor?"

February 19, 2009
Only 10 more days to submit cheesecake contest entries online

CALABASAS HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 2009-- Ten days remain for guests to submit new cheesecake flavors as a part of The Cheesecake Factory’s “What’s Your Flavor?” Cheesecake Contest. America’s favorite upscale casual restaurant invites guests to celebrate their passion for cheesecake by creating and naming the next great cheesecake flavor for its menu. Flavor creations must be received online by 11:59 p.m. PST on February 28, 2009.

Participants are invited to submit a new cheesecake flavor combination at www.thecheesecakefactory.com/love by using an interactive virtual cheesecake creator. Cheesecake enthusiasts can submit their fantasy flavor on the website and watch it being “baked” online, layer by layer, starting with the crust and finishing with the topping of choice. Submissions can be accompanied by a video, song, poem or photo that creatively expresses the entrants’ passion for their creation. Judging will be based on the creative flavor combination, as well as the originality of the multimedia submission.

Entries have been pouring in, including “Kim’s Marvelous Mojito Cheesecake” featuring a refreshing lime cheesecake with a touch of mint and a sweet rum drizzle. “Liza’s Gorillas in the Mist Cheesecake” features a wild mix of bananas, Oreos® and white chocolate enveloped in a thick canopy of rich milk chocolate all camouflaged behind the ‘mist’ of white chocolate curls. Five finalists will be chosen on March 15 by Founder David Overton and Vice President of Bakery Research and Development Chris Radovan, and posted on The Cheesecake Factory’s website for the public to vote on from March 16 – 31. The winner will be announced on April 1.

The grand prize winner will be awarded a trip for two to the “original” Cheesecake Factory in Beverly Hills, Calif., with a chance to sample his or her winning creation. The Cheesecake Factory plans to feature the new cheesecake flavor on its menu for one year, and to “Share the Love” with those in need, the company plans to donate $0.25 from the sale of every slice of the new “What’s Your Flavor?” winning cheesecake to Feeding America -- the nation’s food bank network -- which feeds more than 25 million hungry Americans each year.
